101423 Overview The Delivery Manager oversees all processes related to the daily delivery of customer packages within the market, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of all customer products. This role is responsible for directly leading the Delivery Team, including Delivery Associates and Drivers, and managing the execution of delivery operations to maintain high levels of customer service at the lowest possible cost consistent with service standards. The Delivery Manager is accountable for the compliance and training of team members, ongoing monitoring of operational needs, and adherence to company policies and procedures. A strong emphasis is placed on customer service, effective communication, organization, and the ability to direct and support the work of others using available tools and reporting systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
1.Schedule Retail Drivers to delivery routes daily, oversee daily outgoing shipments via third party carriers and incoming customer orders via Supply Chain and Dashboard metrics. 2. Manage proper picking, packaging, invoicing and quality assurance of delivery orders in the area to include hazmat compliance. 3. Recruit, hire and train all delivery personnel for market. Perform driver safety checks as needed, for follow up and or retraining. Input and deliver performance reviews of delivery personnel and drivers for the market 4. Assist with route design, balancing and dispatch, including training and follow up of driver and vehicle safety as well as State and Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance. 5. Responsible for maintenance and organization of ZPOG storage and delivery operations area within the store. 6. Responsible for completion, filing and retention of all required paperwork related to compliance and process execution. 7. Allocates resources to ensure timely deliveries as defined by customer requirements and expectations. Keeps all vehicles maintained per policy and regulations. 8. Assist with delivery operations as a route back-up driver, when necessary 9. Communicate with BSD reps, Supply Chain, Third Party Carriers, Retail Management and Corporate Customer Service as needed. 10. The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent education preferred ; coursework in Business, Management, or a related field preferred Minimum of 3 years' experience in retail, service, or a related field At least 2 years of delivery experience preferred Supervisory or leadership experience preferred Knowledge of systems, tools, and/or processes in a delivery environment preferred Familiarity with computers and transportation systems, including Workforce Management Systems, preferred Valid driver's license and clean driving record Department of Transportation (DOT) qualification Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing Skills & Abilities Ability to represent the company professionally when making customer deliveries Demonstrated strong job performance and behavior, including teamwork, attendance, customer service, and productivity Basic product knowledge Knowledge of the operation of power and mobile equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) Geographical knowledge of the delivery service area and ability to read and understand maps Ability to identify opportunities to upsell products and services Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Office Depot OfficeMax core values Physical Requirements (Other/Preferred) Ability to transport single cartons up to 75 pounds as needed (75 lbs is a common industry standard) Ability to use manual pallet jacks and forklifts to transport pallets of products up to 2,500 pounds Ability to work in all seasons and varied climates Ability to perform repetitive lifting and/or carrying of products and merchandise Ability to perform repetitive climbing in and out of the vehicle Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk continuously, including on stairs
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule:
The salary range for this role is $54,080/ year to $70,000/ year, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
