We are looking for a results-oriented Ecommerce Fulfillment Manager to own the fulfillment side of our ecommerce business and help build a scalable, organized, and high-performing operation. Role Overview The Ecommerce Fulfillment Manager is responsible for owning the full ecommerce fulfillment process from order receipt through shipment. This role ensures online orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time while maintaining a clean, organized, and operationally ready inventory and fulfillment area. This is a manager role responsible for building clear workflows, maintaining fulfillment standards, improving processes, supporting inventory accuracy, and ensuring the team has the tools, supplies, and structure needed to execute consistently. The right person will be highly organized, process-driven, scrappy, and comfortable working in a fast-growing business where expectations rise as the business grows. What You'll OwnEcommerce Fulfillment Operations Own the full ecommerce fulfillment workflow from order processing to final shipment. Ensure all online orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time. Build, document, and maintain clear fulfillment processes that other team members can follow. Complete and maintain opening and closing fulfillment checklists. Monitor open orders, aging orders, fulfillment delays, short shipments, and operational bottlenecks. Oversee outbound shipments and maintain strong communication with carriers and pickup services. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient fulfillment workspace that supports speed, accuracy, and scalability. Ensure packaging, shipping supplies, office supplies, and warehouse supplies are fully stocked to prevent production delays. Identify and communicate opportunities to improve fulfillment rooms, systems, workflows, and operating standards. Inventory Readiness & Organization Own the organization and readiness of inventory as it relates to ecommerce fulfillment. Work closely with Shop Leadership to ensure inventory is properly received, organized, stocked, and available for ecommerce orders. Partner with shop operations and buying teams to manage inventory across purpose-built.com, retail shops, Instagram/Facebook, TikTok, and other selling platforms. Communicate inventory issues, stockouts, short sales, receiving needs, damaged product, and product quality concerns quickly and clearly. Help create standards for how ecommerce inventory is stored, replenished, and maintained. Ensure fulfillment-related inventory areas are clean, labeled, easy to navigate, and ready for daily execution. Team Workflow & Process Management Create a clear daily workflow for fulfillment execution. Set priorities for the fulfillment team based on order volume, business needs, and service-level expectations. Train others to follow fulfillment standards, checklists, packing expectations, and inventory procedures. Hold the team accountable to speed, accuracy, cleanliness, and communication standards. Support a culture that is focused, fired up and friendly. Bring structure to a growing department while staying flexible and scrappy when business needs change. Customer Experience & Ecommerce Support Collaborate with the Ecommerce Operations Specialist to support returns, exchanges, customer requests, and online order issues. Respond to fulfillment-related customer inquiries through email, chat, and ecommerce platforms when needed. Resolve customer issues by understanding the problem, identifying the root cause, providing solutions, and following up. Process refunds with strong attention to detail while looking for opportunities to convert refunds into exchanges when appropriate. Protect the guest experience by ensuring every package represents the Purpose-Built brand well. Cross-Functional Communication Communicate professionally and proactively with ecommerce, shop operations, buying, design, customer service, and leadership teams. Escalate product red flags, quality issues, inventory concerns, and recurring fulfillment problems. Recommend operating efficiencies that improve accuracy, speed, organization, and profitability. Partner with leadership to prepare for promotions, seasonal spikes, and ecommerce growth. What Success Looks Like A successful Ecommerce Fulfillment Manager will: Fulfill online orders timely, accurately, and with strong attention to detail. Keep the fulfillment and inventory areas clean, organized, and easy for others to operate in. Build clear processes that improve consistency and reduce mistakes. Communicate issues before they become larger problems. Improve order speed, order accuracy, inventory readiness, and customer satisfaction. Support the growth of ecommerce into a scalable business as we expand Lead with urgency, ownership, and accountability. What Kind of Person Thrives in This Role?
You should have:
2+ years of experience in ecommerce, fulfillment, retail operations, warehouse operations, or customer service. Experience leading workflows, processes, or team members in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and a high standard for clean, efficient workspaces. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and communication channels at once. Strong attention to detail and ability to catch errors before they impact the customer. Experience with Shopify, ecommerce platforms, inventory systems, shipping software, or similar tools. Comfort working in a growing small business where processes are being built and improved in real time. A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to solve problems without needing heavy handholding. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with remote teams, internal teams, vendors, and suppliers. Passion for delivering a strong customer experience.
