Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations within a food-grade warehouse facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient inventory management, regulatory compliance, and the safe handling and distribution of food products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a commitment to quality and safety standards, and experience in food or beverage warehousing.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
Plan, coordinate, and monitor all warehouse activities including receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution of food-grade products.
Food Safety & Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with FDA, USDA, and local health regulations. Maintain adherence to HACCP, GMP, and sanitation standards. Prepare for and manage audits and inspections.
Inventory Control:
Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO). Minimize waste, spoilage, and shrinkage.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff. Establish schedules, assign tasks, and ensure productivity and accountability.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor product handling to maintain food safety and quality standards. Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance:
Ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment (forklifts, refrigeration units, etc.) and overall facility cleanliness.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline workflows while maintaining compliance.
Safety Management:
Enforce workplace safety standards and conduct regular safety training. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
Coordination & Communication:
Work closely with procurement, logistics, quality assurance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, compliance logs, and operational performance metrics.
Requirements:
Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in a food-grade or cold storage environment Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA) Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
Education & Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred HACCP certification or food safety training is a plus
Work Environment:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment
