Farm Share, Inc. Warehouse Manager/Supervisor Organization Established in 1991, Farm Share is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to the recovery, sorting, packing and distribution of nutritious foods for people in need. Farm Share administers a combination of USDA commodity programs and produce recovery operations from a packinghouse located in Homestead, Florida - the heart of Miami-Dade County's farming area. Full-Time Position Summary The Warehouse Manager plays a critical role in supporting the mission of Farm Share by ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant handling of donated and purchased food products. This position oversees daily warehouse operations, including inventory control, storage, and distribution of food to partner agencies and community programs. The Warehouse Manager ensures compliance with all applicable food safety regulations and nonprofit distribution standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and mission-driven work environment. Key Responsibilities Mission & Compliance Support the organization's mission to alleviate food insecurity through efficient food distribution Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety and distribution regulations (including proper food handling and storage standards) Maintain accurate records for inventory, distributions, and reporting requirements Monitor and report any food safety or product quality concerns immediately Warehouse Operations Oversee receiving, inspecting, and storing donated and purchased food items Ensure proper rotation of inventory (FIFO) to minimize waste and spoilage Maintain appropriate storage conditions in freezers, coolers, and dry storage areas Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently Distribution & Coordination Coordinate preparation and distribution of food to partner agencies, community programs, and special events Supervise pre-packing and staging of food commodities for distribution Ensure orders are accurate and ready on schedule Monitor flow of goods to ensure equitable and efficient distribution Supervision & Team Support Provide guidance and oversight to warehouse staff and volunteers Train team members on safety procedures, food handling, and warehouse processes Foster a respectful, team-oriented environment aligned with nonprofit values Facility & Safety Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment Participate in maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities Ensure compliance with OSHA and food safety standards Conduct daily checks of freezer, cooler, and storage temperatures Additional Duties Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment Assist with deliveries and transportation when needed Restock inventory and maintain organized storage systems Perform other duties as assigned by COO or CEO Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 5 years of warehouse or distribution experience (food handling preferred) Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Commitment to the mission and values of a nonprofit organization Working Conditions Physically active role requiring lifting, standing, and equipment operation Exposure to varying temperatures (freezers, coolers, warehouse environment) Pre-Employment Requirements Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of: Interview process Background check Drug screening and/or physical evaluation
