Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Delivery Operations Manager to lead and optimize our FedEx delivery operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of delivery processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline logistics workflows, and foster a high-performance environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our supply chain and logistics operations while maintaining a focus on operational excellence and team development. Duties Lead and coordinate all aspects of delivery operations, including dispatching, route planning, and fleet management to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Oversee warehouse distribution activities, including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment to optimize throughput and accuracy. Manage transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to monitor performance metrics, analyze supply chain data, and identify process improvement opportunities. Supervise warehouse staff and drivers, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement through effective supervision and training. Develop and manage budgets related to transportation, warehousing, procurement, and overall operations to meet financial targets. Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) partners to enhance supply chain flexibility and efficiency. Implement lean methodologies and process improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity, and enhance service quality across all operational facets. Skills Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including inventory management, procurement, demand planning, production planning, and materials management. Proficiency with transportation planning tools such as transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or similar systems. Demonstrated experience supervising warehouse operations with a focus on shipping & receiving, freight handling, dispatching, and warehouse distribution. Expertise in logistics optimization including freight management, fleet management, dispatching strategies, and warehouse distribution processes. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to drive process efficiencies across operations. Familiarity with 3PL partnerships, NVOCC operations, procurement processes, purchasing strategies, and inventory control techniques. Ability to analyze supply chain data using supply chain analytics tools for decision-making; experience with ERP systems like AS400 is preferred. Proven leadership skills in supervising teams within fast-paced environments; excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Competence in managing budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of safety compliance and operational excellence.
