at Department of Corrections in Vienna, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Clerk II to work at the Vienna Correctional Center. This position is responsible for supervising incoming and outgoing individual in custody mail, maintaining a permanent record for individuals in custody concerning letters received and sent, and accepting money through mail sent to facility. In addition, this position will return mail to sender, serve as lead worker and enforce and maintain safety, sanitation, security and custodial measures in the mailroom. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply. Essential Functions Supervises incoming and outgoing individual in custody mail. Maintains permanent record for each individual in custody mail record concerning letters received and sent. Accepts money for Individual in Custody Trust Fund through mail sent to facility. Returns mail to sender if intended individual in custody is on parole, discharged or transferred. Serves as lead worker. Enforces and maintains safety and sanitation, security and custodial measures of the Mailroom are met. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school. Requires two (2) years clerical experience.
