In this pivotal role, you will oversee the efficient management of yard activities, coordinate transportation and inventory flow, and ensure seamless integration with warehouse and supply chain processes. Your leadership will drive safety, productivity, and accuracy across all yard functions, supporting our commitment to operational excellence. Duties Supervise daily yard operations, including materials handling, freight movement, and equipment usage such as forklifts and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Coordinate transportation planning and dispatching to ensure timely delivery and pickup schedules, working closely with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and freight carriers. Oversee inventory management in the yard, ensuring accurate inventory control, proper storage practices, and adherence to warehouse management system (WMS) protocols. Implement process improvements for shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials handling to boost efficiency and reduce costs. Manage procurement activities related to sourcing packaging materials, freight services, and other supplies necessary for yard operations. Conduct regular safety inspections, enforce compliance with transportation management systems (TMS), and promote a safe working environment for all team members. Analyze supply chain data using logistics analytics tools to identify opportunities for demand planning enhancements, category management optimization, and overall operational performance. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics coordination, or supply chain operations with a focus on yard or outdoor storage environments. Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Familiarity with freight forwarding processes including NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations and shipping & receiving procedures. Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment like forklifts; certification preferred. Excellent data analysis skills to interpret supply chain metrics and support process improvement initiatives. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams engaged in dispatching, order picking & packing, and inventory control activities.
