Yard Operations Manager (Landscape Supply) Blue Wagon Landscape Supply - Hudson, MA We're a busy landscape supply yard serving contractors and homeowners year-round. We're looking for someone to step in and take ownership of the day-to-day operation—both in the yard and behind the scenes. This role blends yard leadership, logistics, and operational oversight. You'll be working with the team on the ground while also making sure materials, trucks, and systems are lined up to keep everything running smoothly. What You'll Be Doing Keep the yard running smoothly during busy rushes Coordinate deliveries, routing, and truck utilization (in-house + subbed) Help customers at the counter and in the yard, including pricing out materials and orders Step into equipment as needed (loader, skid steer, etc.) to support operations Manage inventory levels and place orders with vendors Source materials when supply is tight (especially during salt season) Coordinate equipment repairs and outside service when needed Lead a small team (yard, office, driver) and keep everyone moving in the same direction Handle day-to-day issues and adjust plans as things change The Reality of the Role This is a year-round operation, and winter is one of our busiest seasons. Salt supply, trucking, and customer demand can shift quickly. Success in this role means staying ahead of it—lining up product, solving problems, and keeping customers taken care of even when things get tight. What We're Looking For Experience in a landscape supply yard, construction yard, or similar environment Comfortable operating loaders or similar equipment Strong understanding of materials, ordering, and job pricing Able to manage logistics, vendors, and multiple moving parts at once Good with customers—especially contractors Takes initiative and follows through without needing constant direction Pay & Perks $75k-$95k+ total compensation for the right operator Base salary + performance bonus tied to inventory, sales, and operations Paid vacation & sick time The Role You'll have the ability to make decisions, improve how things run, and take real ownership of the yard.
