Job Description

Role and Scope of Position:
The incumbent will assure the development and effective implementation for all skills training programs for the Electrical Substations, Field Engineering/Field Communications Groups and skills training programs and Energy Delivery Technical Programs. Provides overall coordination, scheduling, administration and tracking of all Transmission & Distribution (T&D) training. Manages Skills Training Programs for physical workforce. This position involves frequent travel in our service territory- CT/MA/NH.
Essential Functions:
Manages the analysis and determination of training needs such as initial and refresher, technical, physical skills, clerical, T&D construction work methods, T&D Construction Management Systems and Federally mandated safety programs. Ensures that training programs are designed and evaluated based on a Systematic Approach to Training Model (SAT). Provides or arranges for qualified instructors/trainers as required. Manages, develops and administers technical, clerical and physical skills training programs established under Company-Union bargaining unit agreements. Evaluates training program effectiveness based on objective data. Manages, plans and approves the development, review and implementation of standardized efficient and safe T&D System construction, operation and maintenance practices, procedures and work methods for system-wide application. Approves, plans and manages the development, selection, evaluation and review of Tool & Equipment Standards for the T&D System. Manages, plans & develops the analysis and determination of indoor and outdoor physical plant and apparatus needs required for all Training.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Must have knowledge of safety rules, construction standards, material standards, work methods and practices. Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations affecting the design, construction, operation and maintenance of distribution and transmission facilities. Knowledge of training program design and evaluation using a Systematic Approach to Training. Working knowledge of distribution tools and equipment and a working knowledge of vehicles and hydraulic equipment used in distribution construction, operation and maintenance.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, and Education.
Experience:
Ten (10) to twelve (12) years of related experience. Energy delivery and general electric utility experience is preferred as well as management/supervisory experience.

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. Must be available to travel between
MA/CT/NH
as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally exposed to uneven terrain; and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
