Duties Operate Class A heavy-duty trucks and yard jockey equipment to move containers, trailers, and cargo within the dock yard efficiently Rig and secure loads using appropriate rigging techniques to ensure safe transportation and handling of materials Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment, including forklifts and yard trucks, to maintain safety standards and operational readiness Coordinate with warehouse teams and logistics personnel to schedule trailer movements and optimize yard space utilization Perform mechanical troubleshooting on equipment when necessary, escalating issues for repairs or maintenance as needed Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, load details, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with company policies Assist with yard organization by ensuring clear pathways, proper stacking, and adherence to safety protocols Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as yard jocks, forklifts, or similar machinery Strong knowledge of rigging techniques and mechanical systems related to heavy-duty vehicles Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on equipment Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors Commitment to safety procedures and adherence to OSHA regulations Physical ability to stand, walk, lift heavy loads, and perform manual tasks throughout shifts
