Job Description

American Born Hardwoods is looking for a hardworking, organized, and accountable Yard & Logistics Manager to help lead and improve our hardwood lumber operation. This is a hands-on leadership position, not a desk-only job. The right person will be directly involved in organizing lumber inventory, improving yard flow, coordinating outgoing orders, supporting production, and helping build better systems as our company grows. We work with hardwood lumber, including white oak and walnut, kiln-dried material, stair tread production, and custom hardwood products. This role is critical to helping us improve production efficiency, inventory accuracy, shipping flow, and overall accountability. Responsibilities Organize and manage hardwood lumber inventory Oversee lumber staging, yard layout, and material flow Coordinate shipping, outgoing orders, and order preparation Help prioritize production-ready inventory Manage forklift traffic and safe yard movement Work directly with production, kiln operations, and stair tread production Help prepare material for production needs Improve organization, cleanliness, and accountability in the yard Identify bottlenecks and help create better systems and processes Support a safety-first, team-focused work environment Help the company scale production as we continue to grow What We're Looking For Strong work ethic and a hands-on mentality Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Leadership ability and willingness to take ownership Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or lumber environment Good communication skills with production and management Problem solver who can bring structure and follow-through Forklift, skid steer, or equipment experience is a plus Lumber, sawmill, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or building materials experience is a plus Someone who wants to grow with the company long-term About the Role This position is important to the future growth of American Born Hardwoods. We are not just filling a spot — we are looking for someone who can help bring structure, organization, and flow to our yard and production systems. The right person will be comfortable working outside, around lumber, equipment, production teams, and shipping activity. They should be able to lead by example, stay organized, and help keep material moving efficiently. Pay Pay is based on experience, leadership ability, and fit for the role.
