Job Description

Nippon Sanso Carbonic Products specializes in the manufacture and distribution of dry ice and liquid carbon dioxide. Nippon Sanso Carbonic maintains a reliable network of dry ice distribution facilities located strategically throughout its service area. This integrated distribution network ensures that Nippon Sanso Carbonic can quickly react to customers' needs.
DISTRIBUTION MANAGER
- Brookhaven, MS This is typically a Monday-Friday position, day shift hours. A dditional availability and on-call presence required.
Job Responsibilities:
Reports to Zone Manager Ensure operations are carried out in a manner that safety is evident in everything we do. Responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of dry ice by assuring qualified drivers and equipment are available to implement the daily schedule Hires Drivers to ensure regulatory compliance with all FDA, DOT, and other Government requirements, as well as compliance with all Matheson/CCPI policies and procedures. Completes all training required to fulfill the position of distribution manager. Understand the distribution managers' role and function in implementing all company policies and procedures. Monitor training needs of employees and assure that the training is delivered on-time. Responsible for administering and/or verifying that the employee has successfully completed the Qualification related to any specific training requirement. Ensures investigation of any vehicle accident or employee injury and initiation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions. Ensures 3rd party maintenance providers/vendors are maintaining equipment and controlling costs by scheduling preventative maintenance to ensure maximum utilization, maximum life expectancy and safe operation. Works with carriers or brokers, as necessary, to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery of our products. Works with customers, sales, and service to ensure safe and efficient access to customers and to support all sales activities related to distribution. Provides Scheduling Center with all necessary information needed to compile an efficient schedule Must maintain detailed records of service, inspection, and vehicle reports Utilize and maintain all computer based tools. Ensure maintenance and utilization of On-board Computers and Drive Cams. On-call after normal working hours, due to the 24-hour distribution network.
Accountabilities:
Safety:
Promote a "zero" vehicle accident/injury frequency rate Conduct monthly safety meetings Ensure total compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines both on company property and off-site while performing work Ensure that all operations are performed with regard to the safety and health of all personnel
Operations:
Maintain and/or supervise the maintenance of all records of daily operation with regard to employee information, DOT and FDA regulations, service reports, vehicle maintenance and inspection reports, driver logs and hours to meet company, state and federal regulations for safety and documentation. Takes responsibility to ensure that location meets or exceeds operational goals and objectives Monitors and insures that the location budget is not exceeded
Customer Satisfaction:
Direct and supervise Drivers to maintain a safe, smooth, and profitable operation and ensure that product is delivered to customers as required, within established cost parameters while meeting customer needs
Employee Development:
Mediate employee problems with regard to all Matheson/CCPI policies and procedures as well as federal and government rules Takes responsibility for personnel development while promoting employee growth Ensures that all employees attend required monthly.
Employee Qualifications/Requirements:
Practical experience in transportation - trucking operations Excellent organizational and supervisory skills. 3-5 years preferred - especially with truck drivers. Good mechanical aptitude - understanding of vehicle maintenance Thorough knowledge of all FDA, DOT, and cGMP rules and regulations Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft products Knowledge of on board computers and drive cams helpful Transportation/Trucking operation experience Benefits for full time employees include Paid Vacation, Holidays, 401k, Group Insurance including Dental, Vision and Life, Wellness Benefit, and Opportunities for Advancement.
