Delivery Lead - Switch Order Management (SOM)

Duration:
12 Month Contract Position Summary The Delivery Lead is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of the Switch Order Management (SOM) initiative within the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) program. This role ensures successful integration of SOM capabilities into the Control Room environment, aligning technology, operations, and field execution to enhance system reliability, safety, and outage response. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for project execution, stakeholder alignment, and delivery outcomes across IT, Operations, and vendor partners. Key Responsibilities Program & Delivery Leadership Lead planning and execution of the SOM implementation within the broader ADMS program Own delivery across the full lifecycle (requirements, design, build, testing, deployment, and stabilization) Ensure alignment with PMO governance, scheduling, and delivery standards Manage scope, schedule, budget, and risks to ensure successful project outcomes Control Room Integration Partner with System Operations, Dispatch, and Control Room leadership to integrate SOM into real-time operations Ensure solutions align with operational workflows including outage management, switching, and restoration processes Support transition from legacy OMS/dispatch tools to enhanced ADMS capabilities Stakeholder & Vendor Management Act as the primary liaison between business, IT, and third-party vendors Coordinate across cross-functional teams including Engineering, Field Operations, and Control Room personnel Drive decision-making, resolve escalations, and ensure smooth handoffs between teams Operational Readiness & Change Management Lead organizational change management activities, including process updates, training, and user adoption Ensure Control Room operators and field teams are prepared to leverage SOM capabilities Develop and execute cutover and go-live strategies Risk, Compliance & Performance Ensure adherence to regulatory and operational standards (e.g., NERC, FERC, internal SOPs) Monitor KPIs, system performance, and post-implementation outcomes Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies to maintain delivery momentum Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in utility operations, IT delivery, or grid modernization programs Proven experience leading ADMS, OMS, or Control Room system implementations Strong understanding of distribution operations, switching, outage management, and grid reliability Experience working in or with control room / system operations environments Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendors Preferred Qualifications Experience with
OSI ADMS / OMS
platforms or similar grid management systems Knowledge of Switch Order Management (SOM) or switching/tagging processes Familiarity with SCADA, EMS, and outage restoration workflows PMP, Agile, or equivalent project/program management certification
