Full Job Description Description:
This position allows for a hybrid arrangement with a mix of work from home and in the office. The Materials & Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for planning, tracking, and coordinating materials from project initiation through delivery for electric utility capital projects, including transmission, substation, and large load projects. This role partners closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, and external vendors to ensure materials are ordered on time, delivery schedules align with construction needs, and risks related to long lead equipment are proactively managed. This position is critical to supporting project schedules by working backward from in service and construction start dates to establish material order timing, monitor lead times, and coordinate delivery to job sites, laydown yards, or utility storage facilities. Plan and track material requirements from project initiation through delivery for utility capital projects. Develop material delivery timelines by working backward from in service dates and construction start milestones. Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineering to determine material needs based on scope, facility studies, and design milestones. Monitor long lead materials and lead times; ensure materials are ordered in alignment with construction schedules. Track purchase orders, confirmed material dates, and delivery status using SAP or other enterprise systems. Coordinate deliveries to job sites, laydown yards, or designated utility storage locations. Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors related to delivery schedules, updates, and issue resolution. Support vendor discussions, delivery plan updates, and coordination related to schedule changes or delays. Identify material risks early and communicate impacts to Project Management, Engineering, and Construction teams. Provide regular material status updates and reporting to support project execution and schedule reliability. Travel to client offices and project sites, as required
Qualifications:

Essential skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience supporting material coordination, logistics, or supply chain activities for utility, construction, or infrastructure projects. Experience within the energy, power, or utility industry Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for tracking purchase orders and material status. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, materials, and vendors concurrently. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across engineering, construction, and supply chain teams. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and work under pressure to meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels Eager to cultivate program and project knowledge to make a valuable impact to the PMO team operation; willing to engage with others to understand PMO team and client needs Committed to deliver high quality, accurate deliverables with attention to detail A high school diploma or GED Comfortable with approximately 10-25% domestic travel Valued but not required skills and experience: Experience with electric utility projects (transmission, substation, distribution, or large load projects). Experience managing long lead equipment and supplier driven schedules. Understanding of construction sequencing and how material delivery supports field execution. Strong Excel or material tracking/reporting experience.
