As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Production & Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee warehouse operations, inventory systems, logistics, procurement, workforce management, and production support. This role is ideal for someone who loves building systems, managing people, improving efficiency, and ensuring that every event and installation is executed flawlessly.
Job Summary:
The Warehouse & Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Swell Botanics' warehouse, inventory, procurement, logistics, production support team, and field operations. This individual serves as the operational hub of the business, ensuring: Swell HQ and hotel and client inventories are accurately tracked and maintained Warehouse operations run efficiently Support staff and seasonal labor are effectively managed Event installations and breakdowns are properly staffed and executed Maintain accountability for company vehicles, tools, event equipment, rental inventory, and other operational assets. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-oriented, comfortable leading teams, and experienced managing operations in a fast-paced event, hospitality, floral, or production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory management Manage warehouse and client inventories maintained at Swell HQ, hotels, hospitality partners, retail installations, long-term client locations Develop inventory tracking systems; conduct regular inventory audits Minimize inventory loss and waste; reporting lost or damaged items Generate monthly and seasonal inventory reports Support future implementation of inventory management software and QuickBooks integration Production team leadership Partner with design and event teams to ensure successful execution of events including equipment preparation, material staging, installation logistics, breakdown planning, post-event inventory reconciliation Directly supervise and ensure compliance for a team of production assistants, flower processors, delivery drivers, event setup and breakdown crews, freelance production staff, and seasonal GigPro workers Building staffing schedules and coordinate scheduling Lead recruiting, conduct interviews and ensure appropriate staffing for peak holiday seasons, major corporate activations and expansions; maintain labor pools for recurring seasonal needs Build and implement onboarding as well as training and development programs Warehouse operations Oversee all warehouse operations and daily workflow Develop, implement, and enforce warehouse and production operating procedures (SOPs) Manage warehouse inventory inclusive of hard goods, vessels, candles, seasonal décor, event rentals, floral mechanics, packaging materials, tools and equipment; Develop systems for storage, labeling, organization, and retrieval of inventory Manage warehouse equipment, tools, vehicles, and supplies Ensure all inventory is properly stored and protected Systems & reporting Track labor utilization and staffing costs Monitor operational KPIs Recommend process improvements Procurement & purchasing Source and purchase hard goods, containers, vessels, décor, tools, supplies, and production materials; ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials Maintain vendor relationships; negotiate pricing and purchasing terms Coordinate seasonal purchasing plans and maintain procurement budgets Compliance Manage logistics for daily delivery schedules, coordinate accurate product routing and scheduling of load-ins and load-outs Oversee company vehicles and transportation logistics, insurance requirements Coordinate cross-property inventory transfers Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment Enforce lifting, equipment, and vehicle safety procedures Ensure OSHA-compliant practices where applicable Conduct safety training for staff; manage incident reporting procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or operations role in a high-volume or event-based environment ideally with luxury hotel and residential environments Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within the floral or retail industry; knowledge of plant and floral care is preferred Strong understanding of floral and plant design techniques + materials.
Skills:
Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively and kindly in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Keen eye for detail to ensure all arrangements meet the shop's quality standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with staff, suppliers, and customers. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues efficiently. Familiarity with Google Workspace programs (drive, sheets, docs, etc).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, lift, and move heavy objects (e.g., flower buckets, large vases). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak seasons (Easter, Mother's Day, Christmas).
Location:
Swell Botanics HQ as well as client production studios
Hours:
Full-time and increased hours particularly during peak floral seasons and holidays. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
