Following our principles, we establish closer proximity support for our prestige customers. Our new distribution center in Lugoff, SC is a key step in our expansion, and we are looking for a leader to build and shape our operations from the ground up. The Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to launch, establish, and lead operations at our brand new warehouse facility. This is a unique ground-floor opportunity for a hands-on leader to design efficient processes, build and mentor a new team, and create a culture of safety, accuracy, and excellence. You will be the architect of our warehouse operations, responsible for taking an empty space and transforming it into a highly functional and productive distribution center. Key Responsibilities Launch & Setup (First 12 Months) Collaborate with leadership and vendors on the final layout, equipment selection (racking, forklifts, WMS), and technology implementation. Lead the physical setup of the warehouse, including receiving initial inventory and organizing storage for optimal flow. Review and implement existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control with support from internal resources. Recruit, interview, hire, and train the initial team of planning staff, warehouse lead, and warehouse associate. Establish strong relationships with shipping carriers and other third-party logistics partners.
Ongoing Management & Optimization Operational Leadership:
Manage all daily warehouse activities to ensure orders are shipped accurately and on time. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.
Team Management:
Lead, coach, and develop the warehouse team. Foster a positive, productive, and safe work environment. Manage schedules, performance, and training.
Inventory Control:
Implement and maintain rigorous inventory management practices. Ensure cycle counts and annual physical inventories are performed with a high degree of accuracy.
Safety & Compliance:
Champion a culture of safety. Enforce all OSHA and company safety policies, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure the facility is always inspection-ready.
Budget & Resources:
Manage the warehouse operational budget. Control labor costs and monitor expenditures for supplies.
Systems Management:
Become the expert user of our WMS and ensure it is used effectively by the entire team.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or Business Administration. Associate's degree with relevant working experiences will also be considered. 5+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center management. Proven experience in a start-up or launch environment (e.g., opening a new warehouse, leading a major facility expansion, or significantly re-engineering processes). Demonstrated expertise in building and mentoring high-performing teams. Deep knowledge of warehouse operations, with the use of WMS and ERP in inventory management and material handling. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and warehouse management software.
Preferred:
Experience in serving as supply chain to manufacturing customers will be a plus. Certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP) Experience with WMS implementation or integration. Working Conditions The Warehouse Manager will spend work times in the warehouse environment and in the office. This role requires regular exposure to an active distribution setting, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other industrial equipment, as well as varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical activity such as walking, standing, and lifting materials. Compliance with all safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in designated areas.
