Whether it's pre-cut wholesale, retail, schools, hospitals, restaurants, or hotels, Edible Cuts provides the freshest products to every client. Our wide variety of offerings provide cost-effective options to a kitchen of any size. Edible Cuts is growing and we are currently hiring for a Shipping Manager.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday starting at 3:30am, with some weekend availability. Flexibility with schedule needed.
Pay Range:
$70,000-$75,000 The Shipping & Receiving Manager leads and directs the daily shipping and receiving and distribution of products. Ensures that all orders and routed and shipped and delivered in a timely manner. Maximizing the loading space for shipping in trucks, prioritizing the routes and deliveries including pick-ups for appropriate window times. Included in this is Managing of loading pallets and communication to the team about product spacing in trucks. Scheduling of shipping personal. A successful shipping/receiving supervisor is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures. The goal is to ensure that the shipping processes are running smoothly and effectively daily for inbound receiving and outbound shipping.
Responsibilities:
  • Managing shipping team for inbound and outbound products.
  • Ensuring that all products are accounted for upon delivery.
  • Verifying all products are loaded correctly in a timely manner.
  • Use software to track, check, prioritize and direct loading of orders.
  • Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick up slips, bills of lading and invoices.
  • Direct the flow of products daily from preparation to shipment. Including the loading/unloading of trucks and shipments to and from the Chicago Location.
  • Supervise and lead subordinates (drivers, receiving clerks, dock personal, inventory personal, order fillers) Building a team of qualified receivers/Inventory/order fillers.
  • Oversee the process of products being stored with proper rotation.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes and that SOPs are followed.
  • Resolve issues regarding shipped orders and inbound orders.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
  • Analyze invoices and demand forecasts daily to estimate shipping, storage, and delivery requirements, and use this information to create employee schedules and resource allocation requests.
  • Inspect physical condition of the warehouse, dock, vehicles, and equipment according to checkup schedules and initiate appropriate actions to remedy unsatisfactory findings.
  • Communicate directly with clints as necessary to answer questions, relay shipping updates, and handle complaints calmy and efficiently.
  • Able to be hands on in a fast-paced work atmosphere.
Requirements and skills:
  • High school diploma, plus a minimum of five years' experience in related field.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to delegate and directing and evaluating subordinates.
  • Solid knowledge of logistics procedures and shipping and receiving.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Produce experience.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
