Summary:
The position has global remit and acts as the liaison for all supply chain matters associated with assigned customers and/or market segments. The position is aligned with the market segments and works closely with the Business Development Executives, assigned customers, manufacturing sites associated with those assigned customers as well as all other aspects and departments supporting the business. The position also provides supply chain architecture and design for the customers as needed and provides supply chain leadership for engineering design activities.
Responsibilities:
Provide global supply chain leadership in the supply chain strategy development for assigned customers
Partner with Business Development Executives in the process of developing new and existing customer relationships via sales effort support and meetings
Gains deep understanding of customer's product, markets, critical schedules, KPIs and critical to success elements in order to facilitate and communicate customer requirements throughout the Benchmark value chain
Provide supply chain architecture and design services
Supplier selection - Assist sourcing where possible as part of supply chain design
Influence product and component design for total cost of ownership and supply chain design
Identify cost reduction opportunities within the design to support the customer
Look for opportunities for Benchmark design engineering to support the customer
Facilitates strategic sourcing initiatives in support of assigned business
Develop close working relationship with sourcing teams (Site level and corporate level)
Identify missing sourcing requirements, collaborate with global sourcing to identify suppliers to fill requisites
Provides initial Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input and recommends ideas to drive lowest total cost of ownership for the product
Ensures proper establishment of new supplier relationships for assigned customers as appropriate where Benchmark preferred suppliers are utilized, or where Benchmark is sourcing new suppliers for customer's products
Act as conduit for Benchmark preferred supplier network and key/critical suppliers for product
Identify suppliers and/or supplier capabilities required to support product/business
Utilize Benchmark global preferred supplier network where possible
Provide suppliers feedback on quote performance. Include corporate sourcing and corporate quote groups the same feedback
Interfaces with Benchmark and supplier manufacturing sites as required
Support continuous improvement for the supply chain strategy including the product, product's market and customer
Collaborate with site on strategies and executables
Develop close working relationships with Site GM, Site Directors and CFT Supply Chain Analysts.
Assist site with strategic quotes
Interfaces with Design Engineering as required
Listen closely to the customer for product, market and business needs to act as the interface with design
Provide input/direction on design changes which optimize supply chain performance for product/ business
Collaborate with the design team to align with customer expectations
Support quoting initiatives
Develop close working relationship with quote teams (site level and Corporate)
Establish Supply Chain Design and Strategy. Provide direction on preferred suppliers and quoting strategy aligned via supply chain Design and Strategy
Oversee quoting activities to ensure supplier quotes are competitive and aligned with business objectives for profitability, cash performance and customer satisfactions
Provide global supply chain leadership to sites as related to assigned customers
Foster and maintain a sound and reliable working relationship with all suppliers and respective management, resolving any major material problem that may arise
Responsible for the selection, training, developing and reviewing of subordinates; Recommend hiring, terminating and/or other changes in status of subordinate personnel
Oversee prioritization of assignments; Plan, budget, organize and direct flow of work to meet both internal and external expectations
Lead staff through effective hiring, developing, utilization, inspiration and counseling

Maintain a current best practice knowledge and deployment within Supply Chain management

Other information:
4 year degree strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
10+ years of progressive experience across all supply chain disciplines
5+ years in both direct and indirect leadership roles
Demonstrate experience in complex customer and manufacturing environments•Strong negotiating and partnering skills
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills
Demonstrate effective analytical, planning and organizational skills
Demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidences
Demonstrate effective problem solving skills and the ability to make sound business decisions
Strong leadership skills and ability to develop, lead and inspire teams
Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required
Ability to exercise discretion and independently drive solutions to complex business issues
Understanding of the total business operation to include material procurement, order entry, forecasting, manufacturing, invoicing, customer returns, inventory levels and on-time delivery
Ability to be an effective leader in change management
Ability to effectively mentor coworkers
Demonstrate effective risk management and project management skills
Demonstrated complex project management skills to Lead, or at least participate in, a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format
Available for travel up to 40-70% of the time
