Job Description:
American Vanguard is seeking a Planning Director who will oversee the end-to-end planning process across all AMVAC regions, driving efficient coordination between sales, manufacturing, and distribution, to ensure best-in-class planning execution. This role is crucial in leading the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process and ensuring smooth operations across crop, specialty, and biological product lines AMVAC, an American Vanguard company was founded in 1969 and is a diversified agricultural and specialty products company focusing on crop protection, turf and ornamental markets, and public health applications. Our tried-and-true crop protection brands encompass a wide and growing range of chemistries to control insects, weeds, and diseases in agriculture. Key Responsibilities Consolidate and analyze global sales data across regions (North America, South America, Asia, Europe) for crop, specialty, and biological products to drive actionable insights Lead the SIOP process, collaborating with manufacturing, sales, finance, and supply chain teams to align demand with production capabilities Develop and implement a global planning framework that integrates sales, inventory, and operational plans across business lines and regions Oversee regional planners, supply planners, and distribution planners, ensuring alignment with global objectives and continuous performance optimization Drive collaboration to ensure accurate forecasting, optimal stock levels, and on-time delivery across regions Select and drive the adoption of planning systems and tools, to streamline global supply chain operations and enhance decision-making Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field Minimum of 10 years of experience in global supply chain or planning roles within the agricultural chemicals industry or a related field Certifications such as
APICS CPIM, APICS
CSCP, Six Sigma, SCPro, etc. (Preferred) Proven experience leading the SIOP process and managing global teams across diverse regions Strong understanding of global manufacturing processes, logistics, and distribution networks Expertise in using planning software (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills Experience in managing complex supply chain issues in a highly regulated, global industry Strong leadership and people management capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High level of detail orientation and data-driven decision-making Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and manage multiple priorities simultaneously In-depth understanding of supply chain dynamics, inventory management, and demand planning systems and processes Works well under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment Self-starter, motivated Must be able to work independently on assigned projects/programs Willingness to be hands-on, with the ability to delegate Flexible, Mature, Team player with strong analytical skills
