Stadium Way, Los Angeles Job Summary:
The Per Diem Purchasing Associate plays a crucial role in the operations of Barlow Respiratory Hospital's Materials Management Department. This position is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of all materials delivered by various vendors to the hospital. The ideal candidate will ensure that all materials are handled efficiently and stored properly, contributing to the smooth operation of hospital services.
Key Responsibilities:
Receipt of Deliveries:
Accurately receive materials delivered to the Materials Management Department, ensuring all items are accounted for against delivery documents.
Storage:
Properly store all received materials in designated areas, maintaining an organized and efficient inventory system.
Distribution:
Timely distribute materials to various departments within the hospital, ensuring that all internal requests for materials are fulfilled accurately and promptly.
Inventory Management:
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, participating in inventory counts and reconciliations as required.
Vendor Coordination:
Interact with vendors during the delivery process to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
Compliance:
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to materials handling, storage, and distribution.
Requirements:
Computer literacy, with proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work on a per diem basis, with varying hours according to departmental needs.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in materials management, inventory control, or a related field is preferred.
