About the Role The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring end-to-end inventory integrity by maintaining full alignment between physical inventory and system records (WMS) across all facilities. This role leads the design, implementation, and governance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)while driving cross-functional projects that improve inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance. The position acts as a central point of control for inventory data, process discipline, and continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires strong ownership of systemic accuracy, physical verification processes, SOP adherence, and project execution across warehouse operations. Flexible Time Off Policy Responsibilities:
Inventory Accuracy & System Integrity Ensure continuous alignment between physical inventory and WMS/IMS system records across all warehouses and partners Oversee and validate all inventory transactions, including receiving, put-away, transfers, shipping, returns, production work orders, and adjustments Process and review inbound shipments, verifying physical counts against vendor documentation and system records Execute supervisor-approved system adjustments for discrepancies (e.g., missing, found, or mislocated inventory) Maintain and manage quarantine processes for damaged, expired, or non-conforming inventory, ensuring proper system updates Investigate, document, and resolve inventory discrepancies, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions Lead daily cycle counts and support annual physical inventory processes Establish and enforce controls to proactively detect and prevent inventory inaccuracies SOP Development & Process Governance Design, document, implement, and continuously improve SOPs related to inventory control and warehouse operations Train teams on SOPs and ensure consistent adherence across warehouse and cross-functional stakeholders Audit warehouse processes to ensure compliance with defined procedures Standardize inventory management practices across locations to ensure scalability and consistency Maintain accurate documentation control, including SOP versioning and accessibility Project Management & Continuous Improvement Lead and support cross-functional initiatives related to inventory flow, WMS enhancements, and operational improvements Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics in partnership with stakeholders Collaborate with Operations, IT, Finance, Procurement, and Transportation to improve systems and processes Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and alerts to track performance, identify risks, and drive improvements Drive initiatives that improve vendor compliance, shipping accuracy, and internal operational discipline Cross-Functional Collaboration & Issue Resolution Partner closely with Finance to reconcile inventory and resolve discrepancies Support operational investigations by gathering accurate data for audits and root-cause analysis Coordinate with Procurement, Transportation, and Fulfillment to ensure accurate inventory flow and resolve daily issues Act as the point of contact for operational exceptions and ensure proper documentation and communication of deviations Team Leadership Provide guidance and tools to warehouse teams to improve accuracy and execution Serve as subject matter expert for WMS/IMS transactions and inventory data integrity
Qualifications:
Technical Skills Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Inventory Management Systems (IMS) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, reporting) Experience 5+ years of experience in warehouse, inventory control, production, or supply chain operations Experience in SOP development, process improvement, and cross-functional project management strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred Core Competencies High attention to detail and strong process discipline Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across Finance, Operations, and warehouse teams Strong organizational and prioritization skills Our Commitment We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
