Position Summary The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for leading all inventory accuracy, control, and reconciliation activities within a high-volume distribution or warehouse environment. This role ensures inventory integrity, supports operational efficiency, minimizes shrink, and drives continuous improvement across inventory processes. The Inventory Control Manager partners closely with Operations, Transportation, Finance, and Warehouse leadership to maintain accurate inventory records and support customer service objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all inventory control functions within a high-volume distribution center or warehouse operation. Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, physical inventories, audits, and reconciliation processes. Analyze inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Monitor inventory performance metrics and develop action plans to improve accuracy and operational efficiency. Partner with warehouse operations to support receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, shipping, and returns processes. Manage inventory adjustments and ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and reporting tools to track inventory performance and trends. Lead inventory-related continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, cost reduction, and service improvements. Develop and maintain reporting on inventory accuracy, shrinkage, cycle count results, and operational KPIs. Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end inventory audits. Train, mentor, and develop inventory control team members to achieve departmental objectives. Ensure compliance with all company safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 5+ years of inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain experience. 3+ years of leadership experience managing inventory teams in a high-volume distribution, fulfillment, or warehouse environment. Proven experience managing inventory accuracy programs, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and resolve inventory discrepancies. Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management systems, and reporting tools. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System (WMS). Experience working in a unionized warehouse or distribution center environment.
APICS/ASCM
certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD. Experience supporting automation, robotics, or highly automated distribution operations. Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
