SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Logistics Supervisor moves GreenGate Fresh, LLLP products in the safest and most cost effective manner to meet or exceed customer expectations and achieves site and company goals. This highly organized and computer proficient individual is responsible for Shipping and Receiving (Utilities) employees. Supervisor works effectively in a team environment with all GGF departements. Reports to Logistics Manager.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Study shipping workload, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, optimal manpower planning driving efficient KPI performance. Supervise and coordinate all activities of shipping and receiving offices, forklift drivers, and other support staff engaged in the loading and unloading of product. Works closely with Production and Sales teams to support synergies across core functions and ensure customer specifications are met. Coordinate work assignments, monitor employee performance and provide training on job duties, company policies and procedures consistent and efficient operation. Work with all departmenst to investigate any potential Food Safety incidents, contamination, foreign material or cold chain issues. Supervise and observe the loading of trucks to determine conformance to loading patterns to prevent damage to product during transit and that the safe operation including maintaining cold chain throughtout the process. Maintains vehicle maintenance report. Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair. Oversee raw receiving actiivies supporting all raw product flow from scale to being issued to production, including cooling tube operations. Ensure a raw product inventories are maintained accurately and completed timely. Oversee when appliable, Utiliites team members to ensure members have all relevant tools, directions and support to complete their daily work requirements. Administer and support safety and health programs to ensure a safe work place and to be in compliance with county, state, federal, national and international regulations. Foster an environment where the importance of worker and food safety is based on proper safe handling and loading of product. Ensure employees are adhering to all GMP/PPE company compliance requirements. Utilize work method programs for training and education to motivate employees to improve performance and quality of work. Develop improved performance of employees through feedback and coaching. Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient and steady flow of information. Knowledge and effective interpretation and implementation of applicable labor laws. Ability to work in a partnership with the Human Resources department.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING
Degree and / or three (3) years of related work experience OR two years related college course work and (5) years related work experience. Valid Driver's License First Aid Certificate/CPR Training (Company will train) Forklift operation certification, Forklift operator trainer certification preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Related work experience in a manufacturing environment preferably produce in a lead capacity in inventory management, warehouse operations, or shipping/receiving operation. Must have prior knowledge of proper freight handling/loading techniques. Directly related experience in the produce industry highly preferred.
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES
Above average verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have effective organizational, planning and prioritization skills. Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required. Must have ability to use or learn the NAV computer system. Must have personal integrity, flexibility, dependability, ability to work within policy guidelines and to work independently. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to growers, customers, clients, sales, upper management and other employees of the organization is essential. Must have strong math skills and be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus Travel to Yuma, AZ & Salinas, CA - REQUIRED Perform other tasks as assigned by Manager. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged sitting and terminal use.
- Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work to be performed in varied environments: indoors in a climate controlled environment, refrigerated cooler production facility, shipping and receiving warehouse, and outdoors is varied weather as needed.
