Job Description

Growing manufacturer is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager. This position is responsible for arranging the delivery of product to the customers by routing the branch fleet as per customer requirement and by assigning motor vehicles and drivers. This position manages all the administrative functions of transportation in the facility, including the supervision of the Dispatch team. This position also monitors drivers as per DOT regulations in a specific region and must assure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing and creating delivery tickets daily. Responsible for preparing and reconciling daily trip sheets and load sheets. Assist the branch manager with inter-plant and special pick-ups and deliveries. Responsible for reviewing driver log books and ensuring their proper completion. Responsible for ensuring that drivers have not violated hours of service rules and stay within the guidelines of DOT regulations. Responsible for reviewing truck, tanker and trailer pre-trip inspection reports and ensuring their proper completion. Establishes delivery routes. Issues equipment to drivers such as PPE, log books, and uniforms. Monitor and control loss of company assets. Direct activities of drivers while on their routes. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises drivers, tank installers and Dispatch team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software, Microsoft Word® and Excel® or similar spreadsheet software.
Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred. Two years of logistics/transportation and supervisory experience At least two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pay:
$75,000.00
