Parts Manager - Woodworking Machinery Job Summary The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing all parts department operations for a woodworking machinery dealership. This role ensures fast, accurate, and profitable parts support for customers, service technicians, and internal teams. The Parts Manager plays a critical role in minimizing customer downtime, supporting service operations, and driving aftermarket parts sales for woodworking equipment. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations of the parts department for woodworking machinery and related equipment Ensure timely identification, sourcing, and delivery of parts to support field service technicians and customers Maintain appropriate inventory levels of critical spare parts, wear items, and consumables Source and order OEM and approved aftermarket parts for CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, planers, sanders, dust collection, and related equipment Support customers and technicians with parts identification, breakdowns, manuals, and technical recommendations Coordinate closely with service, sales, and operations teams to anticipate parts demand Prepare accurate parts quotes, process orders, and manage returns and warranties Maintain accurate inventory records, pricing, and transactions in the dealer management or ERP system Monitor inventory turnover, obsolescence, and profitability Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and vendors Negotiate pricing, availability, and stocking programs with suppliers Supervise, train, and evaluate parts department staff Oversee cycle counts and physical inventories Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of parts and tooling Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient parts department environment Coordinate with general management and service providers for facilities maintenance and repair Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree preferred) 3-5 years of experience in parts management, preferably within industrial equipment or machinery dealerships Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret parts diagrams and manuals Experience with inventory management or dealer ERP systems Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment Ability to lift and handle parts in a warehouse setting as required Preferred Qualifications & Skills Experience supporting woodworking machinery such as CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, sanders, or automation systems Knowledge of tooling, knives, inserts, saw blades, and other consumables Familiarity with electrical components such as motors, sensors, drives, and controls Experience working directly with equipment manufacturers and OEM suppliers Previous supervisory or leadership experience Work Environment Combination of office, warehouse, and service support environments Customer-driven, deadline-oriented setting Occasional overtime or after-hours support to meet customer needs Compensation & Benefits (Optional) Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonuses or incentives Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance, AD&D, short- and long-term disability insurance Retirement plan options Flexible spending account option (FSA) Paid time off and holidays
