Job Description
Job Summary The Chemical Trader & Sales Manager will oversee international trading activities involving chemical products and plastic resins, including market expansion, commercial negotiations, contract administration, and end-to-end import/export operations. This position is responsible for supply chain coordination, compliance, and risk management while working closely with teams across the U.S. and Korea to support long-term business growth. Key Responsibilities1. Chemical Trading & Market Expansion Manage trading activities for petrochemical products, plastic resins (PE, PP, PET, etc.), and engineering plastics (PC, ABS, HIPS, etc.) across domestic and international markets. Identify and develop new business opportunities within sustainable materials, bio-based products, and emerging chemical sectors. Expand international sales channels and support import/export operations between Asia and North America. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, distributors, and strategic partners worldwide. 2. Sales & Commercial Operations Lead pricing discussions, commercial negotiations, and contract development for domestic and international transactions. Analyze market conditions, feedstock trends, and supply-demand movements to maximize profitability. Execute spot and long-term sales agreements while meeting business performance goals. 3. Procurement & Supply Chain Management Coordinate sourcing, inventory allocation, and supply planning for plastic resins and specialty chemical materials. Work closely with manufacturers, distributors, logistics providers, and warehouse operators to maintain reliable and cost-efficient supply chains. Oversee transportation logistics including truck, rail, and ocean freight operations. 4. Import/Export & Logistics Execution Manage the full execution cycle of international trade transactions, including shipping documentation, customs compliance, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate shipping schedules, inventory management, and warehouse operations. Ensure efficient cargo movement through ports and domestic distribution networks. 5. Risk Management & Contract Administration Administer international trade agreements while ensuring compliance with internal policies and operational procedures. Evaluate market, operational, freight, credit, and foreign exchange risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. Maintain disciplined oversight of pricing exposure, supply risks, and logistics operations. 6. Cross-Functional & Cross-Cultural Collaboration Collaborate effectively within a multicultural business environment, particularly with teams based in the U.S. and Korea. Adapt communication and reporting practices to support coordination with overseas headquarters and global partners. Develop and strengthen internal and external networks within the global petrochemical and plastics industries. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical trading, plastic resin sales, supply chain operations, or related commercial functions. Demonstrated experience managing international trade contracts and conducting commercial negotiations. Strong bilingual communication skills in English and Korean preferred. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Johns Creek, Georgia for long-term employment. Hands-on experience with trading operations, logistics coordination, and import/export documentation. Flexibility to work across international time zones as needed, including collaboration with Korea-based teams. Strong professionalism, accountability, and organizational skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required. Collaborative, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset with strong business acumen. Preferred Qualifications Experience in plastic resin and engineering plastics trading or distribution. Familiarity with sustainable materials, bio-based chemicals, or new business development initiatives. Knowledge of ocean freight, rail transportation, tank storage, and warehouse operations. Experience working with multinational trading firms or global chemical manufacturers. Established industry network within the U.S. chemical or plastics market.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per yearBenefits:
