About the
Role:
The Parts Manager at Jack Schmitt Ford, Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the service department by overseeing the inventory and distribution of automotive parts. This position is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that the service team has the necessary parts to meet customer needs promptly. The Parts Manager will also analyze sales trends and inventory turnover to make informed purchasing decisions that align with the company's goals. Additionally, this role involves training and supervising parts counter staff to provide exceptional customer service and support. Ultimately, the Parts Manager contributes to the overall success of the dealership by ensuring that the parts department operates smoothly and effectively, enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in parts management or a similar role within the automotive industry. Strong knowledge of automotive parts, inventory management, and operations management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in business or a related field. Experience with automotive aftermarket parts and service department operations. Familiarity with inventory management software and point-of-sale systems. Experience with Ford Parts preferred.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the parts department, including inventory management and parts counter activities. Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely ordering and receiving of automotive parts and accessories. Train, supervise, and evaluate parts counter staff to ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency. Develop and implement strategies to improve parts sales and profitability while managing costs effectively. Collaborate with the service department to ensure that all necessary parts are available for repairs and maintenance.
Skills:
The required skills in parts counter operations and inventory management are essential for maintaining an organized and efficient parts department. Daily tasks will involve using these skills to track inventory levels, process orders, and ensure that the service team has access to the necessary parts. Operations management skills will be applied to streamline processes and improve overall department performance. Knowledge of the automotive aftermarket and spare parts will enable the Parts Manager to make informed purchasing decisions and enhance customer satisfaction.
