Not Available Job Summary As Senior Manager, Scheduling & Orders, you will provide senior‑level leadership for end‑to‑end scheduling and order management across complex manufacturing operations in Decatur, Illinois. This role owns the integration of demand, production schedules, materials planning, and order fulfillment to ensure delivery commitments, cost targets, and operational efficiency are achieved. You will lead and develop high‑performing teams, establish planning governance, and drive continuous improvement across scheduling and order processes. Success in this role requires strong cross‑functional leadership, data‑driven decision making, and deep expertise in manufacturing supply chain planning. This position plays a critical role in enabling safe, efficient, and predictable manufacturing outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead enterprise‑level scheduling and order management processes to align demand, capacity, materials, and delivery commitments. Establish and govern production scheduling standards, policies, and performance metrics across manufacturing operations. Partner with operations, supply chain, procurement, logistics, and sales to synchronize order‑to‑delivery execution. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using process management and supply chain analytics to improve schedule adherence, inventory health, and customer delivery performance. Lead, coach, and develop managers and professionals; set clear expectations and performance goals. Oversee risk identification and mitigation related to capacity constraints, demand variability, and supply disruptions. Communicate planning performance, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership using clear, data‑based insights.
Required Skills Manufacturing Scheduling & Control:
Advanced knowledge of production scheduling, sequencing, and order fulfillment in manufacturing environments. Supply Chain Management (MFG): Ability to integrate demand planning, MRP, inventory, and logistics processes.
Process Management & Continuous Improvement:
Expertise in evaluating, optimizing, and standardizing complex planning processes.
Decision Making & Critical Thinking:
Strong analytical judgment to evaluate tradeoffs and guide enterprise‑level decisions. Cross‑
Team Integration:
Proven ability to lead across functions and align diverse stakeholders to common objectives.
People Leadership:
Experience leading managers, developing talent, and driving performance accountability. Preferred Skills Experience in large‑scale manufacturing or industrial environments. Advanced use of ERP, MRP, and planning systems to drive schedule optimization. Background in demand planning, S&OP, or order‑to‑delivery transformation initiatives. Experience presenting operational insights to executive leadership.
Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
