What You'll Own Financial Performance & P&L Leadership Drive departmental profitability by managing gross margin percentage and net profit targets Control expenses including payroll, freight, and operating costs Optimize pricing strategy using matrix pricing, fleet tiers, and customer-specific programs Resolve pricing issues including overrides, below-cost sales, and DMS structural problems Report performance regularly to General Manager with actionable insights Inventory Excellence Maintain optimal stock levels that support service and retail needs while minimizing obsolescence Manage ordering cycles using DMS tools and supplier programs effectively Conduct inventory counts and resolve discrepancies promptly Leverage OEM programs including returns, warranties, and investment optimization Address slow-moving inventory through strategic returns and discounting Customer Service & Sales Growth Build a responsive culture serving both internal customers (Service, technicians) and external customers (fleets, shops) Grow wholesale and retail sales by identifying opportunities with existing and new accounts Develop fleet relationships ensuring competitive pricing and high fill rates Resolve escalated issues quickly and professionally Team Leadership & Development Build your team by recruiting, hiring, and training Parts Counter staff and drivers Drive performance through clear expectations, regular coaching, and formal reviews Create a positive environment aligned with Wiers values of safety, respect, and accountability Develop expertise in DMS systems, product knowledge, and service standards Vendor & OEM Relations Maintain strong partnerships with International/Navistar and aftermarket suppliers Negotiate effectively on pricing, returns, and terms to maximize profitability Stay current on OEM programs, promotions, and policy changes Operations & Compliance Maintain organized operations with clean, efficient parts room and counter areas Ensure accurate records for all transactions, returns, and special orders in DMS Maintain compliance with hazmat handling, OSHA requirements, and dealership policies Support warranty processes in coordination with
Service Manager What We're Looking For Required Experience & Skills:
3+ years in parts management or senior parts counter role, preferably in heavy/medium truck or commercial vehicle dealership Proven P&L management ability including pricing and inventory control Strong DMS knowledge (CDK, Procede/Fusion, or similar systems) Leadership experience with demonstrated team development skills Customer service expertise managing fleet and wholesale accounts Solid understanding of heavy-duty truck parts and components High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
International/Navistar experience with parts systems and programs Fusion (Procede) DMS familiarity Associate's degree or higher in Business, Automotive Technology, or related field Parts pricing matrix setup and management experience
