Position Summary:
The Operations Supervisor - Inventory is responsible for leading the inventory function through direct oversight of Inventory Manager(s). This role is accountable for overall inventory accuracy, process execution, and operational performance across the facility. This position sets direction, establishes standards, and ensures execution through leadership of managers. The Operations Supervisor partners cross-functionally to drive alignment across receiving, outbound, and transportation while ensuring inventory integrity, service levels, and financial performance are achieved.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Leadership & Ownership:
Provide direct leadership to Inventory Manager(s), ensuring alignment to operational priorities and company standards Hold managers accountable for inventory accuracy, cycle count execution, and variance resolution Establish expectations, monitor performance, and drive accountability at the manager level Ensure consistency in execution across shifts and departments through effective leadership routines
Operational Performance:
Own facility-level inventory accuracy, shrink, and product integrity metrics Analyze trends, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions through manager accountability Partner with Operations, Transportation, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment and continuity of product flow Ensure proper slotting, rotation, and storage practices are executed consistently
Process & Continuous Improvement:
Drive standardization of inventory processes, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation practices Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, space utilization, and accuracy Leverage WMS and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making Identify and eliminate root causes of inventory discrepancies and operational inefficiencies
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure managers enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Maintain compliance with food safety and quality standards (SQF/BRCGS as applicable) Promote a culture where safety and compliance are non-negotiable
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Partner with site leadership to align inventory strategy with overall operational goals Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Training to ensure effective onboarding, development, and accountability structures are in place Serve as a key leader in driving site-wide initiatives and operational excellence

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management, including leadership experience
  • Experience in cold storage environments (ambient, cooler, freezer) preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS and ERP systems, as well as inventory management practices
  • Solid understanding of inventory control, shipping/receiving, and order fulfillment processes
  • Proven ability to lead through others, drive accountability, and deliver results
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive alignment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed Preferred qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, or inventory operations, including experience leading leaders
  • Demonstrated success driving operational performance, inventory accuracy, and process discipline in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and implementing sustainable process changes
  • Strong understanding of KPI and SLA management, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and drive results
