Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Inventory Manager to oversee and optimize our inventory operations across multiple channels, including warehouse distribution, e-commerce, and retail environments. This role is integral to maintaining efficient supply chain processes, ensuring accurate stock levels, and supporting overall business growth. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in inventory control, supply chain management, and warehouse management systems. They will lead efforts in procurement, demand planning, and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Key responsibilities include managing inventory levels through data-driven analysis, coordinating with suppliers and logistics providers, implementing category management strategies, and utilizing advanced analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau for insightful reporting. The Inventory Manager will also oversee materials handling, shipping and receiving, and production planning activities to ensure seamless order fulfillment and stock replenishment. Duties Oversee inventory control processes across multiple warehouses and distribution centers to ensure optimal stock levels. Utilize data mining, SQL queries, and supply chain analytics tools to identify trends, root causes of discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements. Lead procurement activities by sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to secure favorable pricing and terms. Implement category management strategies to optimize product assortment and inventory turnover. Coordinate with logistics teams on shipping & receiving schedules, materials handling, and order fulfillment to meet customer demands efficiently. Conduct demand planning using historical data analysis from Nielsen or similar sources to forecast future needs accurately. Manage warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like SAP or AS400, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau for real-time reporting. Perform financial analysis related to inventory valuation, pricing strategies, and cost reduction initiatives. Lead root cause analysis for stock discrepancies or supply chain disruptions; develop corrective action plans. Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows, implementing best practices in materials management, and enhancing overall warehouse operations. Ensure compliance with safety standards during heavy lifting operations and materials handling procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, procurement, finance, and retail management. Requirements Proven experience in inventory management within a fast-paced supply chain environment; warehouse experience is essential. Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including demand planning, procurement, logistics, and category management. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms such as SAP or
AS400, SQL
databases, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform financial modeling, root cause analysis, and data analytics. Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; safety certifications are a plus. Experience with 3PL providers (third-party logistics), shipping & receiving operations, and order fulfillment processes. Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers; strong sourcing skills are highly desirable. Exceptional organizational skills combined with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting insights clearly.
