This role involves managing inventory levels, ensuring timely ordering and delivery of materials, and coordinating with various departments to meet operational needs. The Materials Manager will track inventory data, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure that materials are properly stored and accessible. Additionally, the manager will evaluate material usage trends, monitor supply costs, and implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality standards and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with suppliers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Generates purchase orders, forwards purchase orders to vendors, confirms pricing, quantity, unit of measure, and updates pricing in SIS. Maintains accurate filing system of purchase orders to allow for the easy identification of outstanding orders. Verifies daily delivery of items with packing slips and purchase orders and notes back-orders. Reviews invoices to verify cost of items, updates costs in SIS as necessary, maintains database. Coordinates accounts payables related to inventory with the Business Office Manager. Inputs used items from physician preference cards for prior days' procedures. On an as needed basis, prepares supply re-order lists. Coordinates quarterly physical inventory counts as directed by the Director of Nursing and Administrator, and updates. Compiles and periodically updates the inventory item master list. Inputs new and revised physician cards as needed. Participates in performance improvement activities related to inventory process. Maintains receiving dock and storerooms in neat and orderly manner to ensure safety and cleanliness. Pulls packing slips and ensures shipment is complete and received undamaged. Researches and resolves problems with damaged, missing or incorrect merchandise. Prepares paperwork and ships items from the Surgery Center utilizing most appropriate carriers (i.e., UPS, FED EX). Maintains equipment preventive maintenance database with assistance of Management. Assists with customer service and provides clinical care when necessary. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent Basic knowledge of medical supplies. Minimum two (2) years' experience in a health care facility. Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language Familiarity with EDI (Electronic Data Interface) processes for purchasing supplies. Ability to organize work and follow through on own initiatives Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy Experience Requirements High School Graduate or equivalent. Basic knowledge of medical supplies. Minimum two (2) years' experience in a health care facility.
