This candidate will use hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of carpentry on the production line every day, while maintaining the high standard of quality Plainscraft is known for. Today, we produce and sell covered wagons to the hospitality/ glamping industry throughout the US and Canada. The Wagons may resemble those of the 1800's on the outside, but the inside is an adventure like nothing you've seen before. These beautiful wagons are fully furnished with a modern yet rustic design from the beds to the fully functioning bathroom with shower. The covered wagons are used by RV parks, resorts, dude ranches, private hideaways, and other hospitality businesses. They are typically rented for overnight or short-term excursions and even come with heating and air conditioning for all seasons. They are almost completely handcrafted in Topeka, Kansas and have been carefully designed to provide a one-of-a-kind unforgettable experience.
Responsibilities:
Schedule wagon pickup and delivery with delivery company Traveling with team to trade shows, set up and teardown of wagon Prep, and load all sold products for shipment Manage customers' expectations and inform them of wagon delivery schedule, pro-assist, and setup Manage our pro-assist program for customer wagon setups Travel to customer location and perform wagon set-ups on site Manage safety protocols and building fire codes including equipment DOT requirements (logbooks, permits, etc.) Quote freight for wagons, materials, etc. Tool management Receive orders and verify quantities, quality of goods Pickup purchase orders/ inventory General wagon repairs on stock and occasional off-site repairs as needed Truck and trailer maintenance Physical inventory tasks such as counting quantities, logging, and requesting purchases orders Schedule and perform maintenance and adjustments to shop equipment Schedule all facility maintenance as needed Maintain monthly safety meetings and logs Manage Quality Program for Plainscraft products Perform other tasks as assigned
Physical Demands:
Able to stand for 8 hours a day Able to walk, bend, twist and reach Able to lift 40 pounds regularly Able to work in a non-climate-controlled facility Able to work without the influence of illicit drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicating substances
Required Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will maintain a practical, common-sense approach to completing all work while maintaining commitment to quality, service, timing, and safety Must be able to travel for trade shows, pro-assist, and material pickup & delivery Driving safely with 24•34' trailers Detail oriented, effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Reliable, Responsible, and able to work Independently Must have effective oral communication skills A positive attitude is necessary Occasionally work weekends on a limited basis All new hires must provide identification to verify eligibility to work in the U.
