Non-Exempt About the Opportunity A global logistics company is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Lead to support distribution center operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory across both physical and system environments. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering growth potential for a hands-on inventory professional with leadership experience. The Inventory Control Lead will act as the on-floor subject matter expert, supporting inventory accuracy, troubleshooting discrepancies, leading cycle count programs, and guiding junior inventory personnel. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute end-to-end cycle count programs , including ABC counts, variance reconciliation, negative balances, and KPI tracking Serve as the primary on-floor point of contact for resolving systemic and physical inventory discrepancies Partner with warehouse leadership and operations teams to identify root causes of inventory issues (receiving, put-away, picking, slotting, item setup, etc.) Coordinate and perform cycle counts, audits, and annual physical inventories as required Assist with validation, maintenance, and administration of Item Master data Audit inventory transactions and scans; request and validate corrections as needed Communicate proactively with internal teams and external client counterparts regarding inventory matters Support internal and external audits and assist with responses to findings Perform inventory quality checks, including international quality and AQL checks where applicable Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in accordance with company standards Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and customer-specific requirements Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management Leadership Responsibilities Provide daily work guidance and task coordination for junior inventory control personnel Assist with onboarding and training new team members Support coverage planning for scheduled and unscheduled absences Provide performance and attendance feedback to management Qualifications Minimum 3 years of Inventory Control experience in a warehouse or distribution center Logistics/3PL experience preferred At least 1 year in a Lead or senior inventory role Hands-on experience managing and executing ABC cycle count programs Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel , including data analysis and reporting Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Inventory Management Systems (IMS) Comfortable learning and becoming a subject matter expert on inventory systems and processes Education & Certifications High school diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred APICS or other inventory/supply chain certifications a plus Physical & Work Environment Distribution center / warehouse environment Standing and walking for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to push or maneuver materials as required Required use of appropriate safety equipment Why This Role Competitive $25-30/hr pay range Temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential High-impact role supporting inventory accuracy and client satisfaction Hands-on leadership exposure within a growing logistics operation All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
