Job Description

Position Overview:
An Equipment Mechanic specializes in repairing, maintaining, and inspecting machinery and mechanical equipment. They work with a variety of tools and techniques to ensure that equipment operates safely and efficiently. Equipment mechanics are critical to Materials Management where heavy machinery is essential for daily operations. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities & Duties:
Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose issues. Perform repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment. Replace defective parts and components as needed. Lubricate moving parts and conduct routine maintenance checks. Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work. Follow safety regulations and procedures while working. Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment. Educate operators on proper equipment usage and maintenance. Maintain inventory of tools and parts required for repairs. Test performance of repaired equipment before return to service.
Requirements:
• 3 years of experience or more preferred Experience with specific types of equipment or machinery relevant to the job. Certification from a recognized technical or vocational training program. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and coworkers. Physical stamina and strength for handling heavy machinery. High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as an equipment mechanic or in a similar role. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in equipment maintenance. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Optional:
CDL Class A with air breaks.
Pay:
$51,149.12 - $61,094.78 per year
