Job Description

Marine Parts Manager - Job DescriptionPosition Summary The Marine Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the parts department within a marine service environment. This role ensures efficient inventory management, accurate ordering, and exceptional support for technicians and customers. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about marine or powersports parts and systems. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of the parts department Maintain accurate inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and stocking of marine parts and accessories Identify and source parts for Mercury, MerCruiser, and other marine engine brands Work closely with service technicians to ensure timely parts availability for repairs and installations Process customer parts orders in person, by phone, and electronically Handle warranty parts returns and core returns according to manufacturer guidelines Maintain organized and efficient parts storage and warehouse areas Track backorders, shipping delays, and communicate updates to service staff and customers Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers Ensure accurate billing, pricing, and parts lookup in the system Assist in forecasting inventory needs based on seasonal demand and shop workload Qualifications Previous experience in a parts department (marine, automotive, powersports, or similar required) Strong knowledge of marine engines and components preferred (Mercury/MerCruiser experience a plus) Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Ability to read parts diagrams and schematics Strong customer service and communication skills Experience with inventory management systems or dealer software preferred Basic computer proficiency (email, ordering systems, inventory tracking) Preferred Traits Detail-oriented and dependable Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment Problem-solving mindset when sourcing hard-to-find parts Team player who works well with technicians and service staff Work Environment Marine dealership/service shop setting Combination of warehouse, counter service, and office work Fast-paced during peak boating season Interested in joining our team?
