Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plastic Extrusion Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in producing high-quality plastic extrusions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the entire extrusion process, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure optimal plant performance. As a key leader in our production team, you will manage daily operations, coordinate with supply chain and engineering teams, and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Your expertise will help us innovate and excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring seamless production flow and customer satisfaction. Duties Lead and manage all aspects of the plastic extrusion process, including start-up, operation, troubleshooting, and shutdown procedures. Develop and implement production schedules using ERP systems such as SAP to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing resource utilization. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality control, and safety standards; take corrective actions as needed. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques to reduce waste and enhance productivity. Collaborate with supply chain management to optimize inventory levels, material procurement, and logistics through supply chain analytics and MRP systems. Oversee plant management activities including staffing, training, safety compliance, and maintenance planning for extrusion equipment. Ensure adherence to quality standards by implementing rigorous quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process. Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and implement preventative maintenance strategies. Foster a culture of operational excellence by promoting teamwork, safety awareness, and innovation among staff. Skills Extensive experience in production management within a manufacturing setting, specifically in plastic extrusion or related processes. Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms for production planning and supply chain management. Strong understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to coordinate materials flow efficiently. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes. Expertise in process improvement techniques aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing cycle times, and lowering costs. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions. Solid background in quality control practices to ensure product consistency and compliance with standards. Familiarity with supply chain management concepts including logistics, inventory control, and analytics tools. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage plant operations effectively while fostering a safety-conscious environment. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across engineering, supply chain, maintenance, and production teams.
