Job Description

Forest Lake Ford, your hometown dealership proudly serving the Forest Lake community. Nestled in our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility, we are thrilled to introduce the NEW Forest Lake Ford, where innovation meets the familiar warmth of a locally owned, family-operated dealer group. At Forest Lake Ford, we understand the importance of community and family values. Our experienced sales and service staff embody this ethos, bringing a personalized touch and a deep knowledge of Ford vehicles to every interaction. The Assistant Parts Manager plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the parts department. This position assists with inventory management, purchasing, stocking procedures, and customer service to ensure the timely availability of parts for service, sales, and retail customers. Working closely with the Parts Manager, the Assistant Parts Manager helps oversee departmental processes, supports parts personnel, maintains vendor relationships, and contributes to achieving departmental performance objectives. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift - Weekends as needed
    Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate and organized parts inventory.
    • Monitor stock levels, order parts as needed, and ensure on-time deliveries.
    • Implement effective inventory control procedures to minimize losses and maximize profitability.
    Customer Service:
    • Provide excellent customer service to retail and wholesale customers.
    • Assist customers in identifying and selecting the right parts for their vehicles.
    • Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain customer satisfaction.
    • Work closely with our service department and ensure a smooth and efficient parts-to-service process.
    Team Leadership:
    • Hire, train, and supervise parts department staff.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
    • Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to team members.
    Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of parts sales, returns, and warranties.
    • Prepare reports on department performance and financial results.
    • Ensure compliance with dealership policies and industry regulations.
    Vendor Relations:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers and vendors.
    • Negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements with suppliers.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and new parts offerings.
    • Proven experience as a Assistant Parts Manager or a similar role in an automotive dealership.
    • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and accessories.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Leadership and team management abilities.
    • Proficient in inventory management software and computer skills.
    • Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on accuracy.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (required)
    • Valid driver's license (required)
    • Fast-paced automotive service department
    • Frequent communication with technicians, advisors, and management
    • Primarily indoor work environment with occasional shop floor interaction.
    • Ability to stand and move around various service shops and the dealership.
    • Team-oriented dealership culture focused on efficiency and customer satisfaction
    Base Salary:
    $55,000-$75,000 based on experience
