Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Procurement:
Manages MRP Ensure product configurations are up to date including minimum on hand quantities, lead times, vendor pricing, etc. Oversee demand forecasting and production planning in coordination with sales, operations and finance Manages one or more buyers who execute MRP as directed Manage inventory levels to balance internal service levels with cash flow objectives Supply Chain Management Ensures that the supplier-based aspects of the company's quality system are executed Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance Oversee supplier review and qualification Identify sources for new products and services Works in conjunction with lab to maintain regulatory compliance with regard to materials Departmental Excellence Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators and demonstrate improvement over time Lead and mentor other members of the supply chain team Partner closely with other departmental leaders on initiatives Drive continuous improvement
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
Will have some purchasing responsibility including serving as backup for buyers when necessary. Select, implement and optimize technologies and tools to improve performance. Likely to be involved at the ground level with ERP implementation. Will help design the application to serve the company for decades to come.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with purchasing/supply chain management in a manufacturing environment Familiar with quality system requirements typical of manufacturing (ISO 9001, 13485, AS 9100, etc.) Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability and desire to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment without a lot of direct supervision Regular and consistent attendance A bit about us:•My client is a leading manufacturing company and they are growing!
