New Way Trucks is currently seeking a highly dedicated and skilled Manager of Supply Chain as an operational leader responsible for end-to-end supply chain execution across multiple manufacturing locations. This role requires a highly capable doer-teacher-leader who combines deep technical expertise in MRP, purchasing, and materials planning with the ability to develop people, document processes, and continuously improve execution. The role demands high energy, fast decision-making, strong teaching instincts, and the discipline to build scalable, repeatable supply chain processes while navigating factory and cross-functional dynamics to drive win-win outcomes. Your Role in
Our Mission:
Own and lead all tactical supply chain functions: MRP-driven buying, materials planning, procurement, inventory control, and supplier execution. Serve as the organization's MRP authority; set standards, train buyers and planners, and enforce disciplined execution. Ensure MRP accuracy, including parameters, lead times, safety stock, and policies. Lead structured purchasing processes, including MRP buys, Kanban, VMI, and contract sourcing. Negotiate pricing, terms, and Inventory agreements to ensure continuity of supply and cost optimization. Drive supplier performance through metrics, accountability, and proactive risk mitigation. Document current-state and future-state supply chain processes. Lead improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, excess inventory, and execution variability. Implement SOX-compliant process through transformation. Build, mentor, and develop buyers, planners, and material professionals. Actively implement and teach MRP logic, purchasing discipline, and system execution. Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and Warehouse teams. Navigate the factories and cross-functional organizations with professionalism to drive win-win outcomes. Provide consistent leadership across multiple locations with approximately 25% travel. To Perform this
Job Successfully:
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or supply chain 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, procurement, or materials management within manufacturing. 5+ years of direct people leadership experience. Deep hands-on ERP/MRP experience in JD Edwards, SAP, Epicor, or AS/400-based systems; Recent Epicor ERP experience strongly preferred. Expert understanding of MRP-driven buying, materials planning, and inventory control. Proven ability to teach, coach, and develop supply chain teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including process documentation. High energy, fast thinker, execution-focused, and politically savvy. High integrity and professional credibility. Preferred Qualifications MBA preferred. Professional certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or PMP. Multi-site leadership experience across multiple states. Experience in OEM, heavy manufacturing, or industrial equipment. Experience implementing or sustaining Kanban and VMI processes. SOX exposure related to materials and inventory. Why New Way Trucks?
