As Materials Department Manager, you'll oversee purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and distribution of all hospital supplies. You'll lead a small, dedicated team, manage vendor relationships, and implement cost-effective strategies that directly support patient care. Three (3) years in healthcare supply chain or materials. Strong leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of purchasing practices, inventory control, and healthcare regulations. POSITION SUMMARY
The Materials Manager is responsible for completing the daily tasks of Central Supply/Materials Management which include but are not limited to the essential duties and responsibilities listed below.

- Efficient computer capabilities
- Familiarity with supplies, office equipment and procedures
- Knowledge of filing and responsible for answering and routing calls to appropriate areas
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to be flexible as the position requires.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to fluctuating job duties.
Preferred:
- EMR experience
- Experience with an Electronic Management System
- Knowledge of GPOs
- Knowledge of medical and medical supply terminology
- Customer service experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Provide exceptional service and care to all patients, customers, and team members. 2. Acts as liaison between hospital departments and vendors. 3. Maintains current and accurate pricing on all inventory items. 4. Responsible for the annual inventory process including counts, pricing, and recording of all supply inventory. 5. Knowledgeable about group purchasing contracts and assists department managers with the use of the contracts. 6. Maintains the inventory management system. 7. Works with accounts payable to ensure that pricing and purchase orders are accurate. 8. Works with CNO and other department heads to standardize supplies. 9. Daily restocking and inventory management for all nursing units and the rural health clinic 10. Purchasing supplies, equipment and other needed times for the hospital and rural health clinic 11. Receiving and logging supplies into the inventory management and outdated management system. 12. Reconcile purchase orders and delivery invoices 13. Monthly outdate management. 14. Develops, utilizes, and ensures accuracy of an Electronic Inventory Management System 15. Assists with price increases in Epic through the CDM process 16. Assist with the preparation of a variety of reports and documents 17. Communicates verbally and via email with Department Directors to ensure that PAR levels for stock are adjusted as needed and maintained 18. Communicates supply shortages with hospital and clinic Department Directors 19. Acts as a liaison and utilizes the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) identified by the hospital. 20. Maintains purchase contracts and ensures that they are kept up to date with all companies utilized by departments. 21. Maintains good relationships with representatives from companies that we purchase from 22. Covers the Pharmacy Manager for vacations, holidays, and other times. 23. Ensures that supplies are available for staff 24 hours per day, 7 days per week 24. Attend meetings as requested by administration. 25. Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. 26. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. 27. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 28. Perform other related duties as assigned.
