Job Description
Position Overview The Stockroom Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the stockroom to ensure accurate inventory, efficient shipping and receiving, and safe, compliant storage of materials and spare parts. This role supervises stockroom staff and serves as a key link between Maintenance teams (mechanics, E-Techs, craftworkers), Procurement, and site leadership to ensure an efficient flow of materials and supplies that supports reliable production. Key Duties & Responsibilities Inventory Control Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels and prevent discrepancies Prepare reports on stock levels and inventory variances Support obsolescence analysis of existing stockroom inventory Maintain optimized reorder points and stock levels to mitigate material shortages Set up new spare parts in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Shipping and Receiving Oversee incoming deliveries, inspect parts/materials for quality and accuracy, ensure proper storage Escalate vendor/supplier discrepancies to the Procurement team Supervise mail services for the Mebane facilities Manage shipment of spares and materials back to original equipment manufacturers, vendors, suppliers Safety, Compliance, and Organization Organize the stockroom for optimal workflow and safe material movement Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to inventory management Ensure appropriate labelling, storage, and handling of hazardous materials Maintain a safe working environment and support applicable compliance requirements, including FDA expectations Leadership and Reporting Train, schedule, and evaluate stockroom staff Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Primary, Building and Utilities teams to address inventory shortages and operational priorities Requirements Education Technical degree or five years of industrial maintenance experience required Experience Minimum three years of supervisory experience (union environment preferred) Five years of experience with CMMS software (SAP and Maximo preferred) Project management experience and CMMS migration experience are a plus Skills & Knowledge Proficiency with inventory management and CMMS tools; strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel) Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of production equipment, operations, and maintenance practices Ability to read and interpret drawings, production schedules, plans, and product specifications Additional Requirements On emergency call seven days per week, 24 hours per day Key Behaviors & Attributes Keep it Simple
