Winston-Salem, NC, 27101 Position Overview The Director of Supply Chain is a leadership position responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and optimization of our supply chain and logistics operations. This role encompasses the management of international and domestic logistics, procurement, inventory control, and supplier relationships. The Director plays a critical role in shaping the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality performance of our supply chain.Essential Functions Strategic Planning and Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain and logistics strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives and supports overall operational excellence. Provide visionary leadership and direction to the supply chain and logistics teams, setting clear goals, expectations, and performance standards. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive high performance in the supply chain and logistics operations.International and Domestic Logistics:
Oversee all aspects of international and domestic logistics, including import and export processes, transportation, and distribution. Optimize the movement of goods, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements. Collaborate with logistics partners, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure efficient and cost-effective product flow.Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management:
Manage supplier relationships at a strategic level, fostering effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to meet global sourcing needs. Collaborate with suppliers to optimize sourcing strategies, cost structures, and product quality.Inventory Control:
Develop and implement inventory management strategies for warehouses and distribution centers. Analyze and monitor inventory levels, reconciling discrepancies through regular cycle counting and physical inventories. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast and plan inventory needs.Cost Analysis and Optimization:
Analyze cost structures, pricing, and procurement expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain. Work with procurement teams, suppliers, and logistics partners to optimize sourcing and transportation strategies. Monitor currency exchange rates, market conditions, and supplier performance for informed decision-making.Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure strict compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards. Mitigate supply chain risks associated with global operations and develop contingency plans. Stay informed about evolving international trade policies and changing regulations.Quality Assurance:
Monitor and ensure product quality and compliance with international standards. Collaborate with internal teams to implement and monitor quality control measures. Eligibility Qualifications Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international business, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain and logistics management, with a proven track record of strategic leadership and achievement. Proficiency in using supply chain and logistics software, international customs documentation, NetSuite, and Microsoft Office tools. In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and global logistics practices.
