Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose This Specification defines the job description of Materials Manager at the Adient, Northwood facility. 2.0 Scope This Specification applies to the Adient, Northwood facility. 3.0 Responsibility Each Department Manager is responsible for creating all job descriptions for the various positions at this facility. The Plant Manager and HR Manager are responsible for verifying accuracy and approving all job descriptions. 4.0 Process 4.1
Basic Function:
4.1.1 Responsible for the management of material, transportation and inventory needs of the plant. Accountable for meeting monthly goals and analyzing the performance of each measurable, while administering the department in an efficient and cost-effective manner. 4.2
Specific Duties:
4.2.1 Establish the data base parameters for Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and related production software systems. 4.2.2 Establish and maintain business practices, procedures and documentation that ensures control of supplier releases, incoming material shipments, receiving documents, inventory Materials Manager Job Description Specification Proprietary and Confidential

Adient - INTERNAL levels, material storage, cycle count process along with root cause analysis and movement and shipments to the customer. 4.2.3 Manage and monitor the activities of subordinates using DITL (day in the life), accuracy and integrity of all materials related to record keeping. 4.2.4 Establish goals and action plans for continued reduction in the cost of transportation, package handling, piece price and inventory levels. 4.2.5 Monitor and measure supplier performance to ensure compliance with established quality and delivery standards. 4.2.6 Manage the data and maintenance of the Bill of Material Database. This included monitoring the performance of effectively date implementation, changes to Billing of material and loading of new end items. 4.2.7 Minimize inventory levels on balance out parts and when appropriate, submit an obsolescence claim. 4.2.8 Maintains excellent customer relations including supplier delivery performance. 4.2.9 Engages in safe practices as well as follows safety rules and job rotations. 4.2.10 Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, reporting unsafe acts, participating in safety/ergonomic committees, participating in safety Kaizen events, participating in blue sky initiatives, participating in safety audits, and participating in safety observation feedback events. 4.2.11 Assist the plant in achieving safety goals while achieving and maintaining Safe Workplace and Environmental and Sustainability objectives. 4.2.12 Reviews and understands the Customer Specific Requirements. 4.2.13 Annual/Weekly/Monthly KPI reporting to Plant Manager 4.2.13.1 Freight accrual file maintenance, lane rate changes and weekly freight report out 4.2.13.2 Inventory/DOH goals vs actual weekly report out 4.3

Education Required:
4.4.1 Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Materials Management. 4.5
Experience Required:
4.5.1 Three to five years in Materials Management with knowledge of Material Requirement Planning or equivalent
