Job Description

The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the parts department, including inventory management, staff supervision, and profitability. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, efficient operations, and exceptional service to both internal and external customers. The Parts Manager plays a critical role in driving departmental performance, maintaining compliance, and supporting overall dealership success. Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and manage Parts Counter staff, Shipping & Receiving team, and Drivers Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate team members to ensure high performance Duties & Responsibilities Establish and achieve departmental goals, objectives, and profitability targets Develop and manage the annual parts department budget Maintain balanced inventory to support service, body shop, wholesale, and retail needs Monitor inventory levels, turns, and obsolescence to maximize efficiency and profitability Implement pricing strategies to achieve strong gross profit while maintaining customer satisfaction Oversee all ordering, stocking, and special-order processes Ensure accurate tagging and processing for manufacturer credits Analyze monthly financials, including sales, expenses, and inventory performance Develop and grow wholesale parts business and external sales channels Partner with Service and Body Shop departments to ensure timely parts availability Monitor key performance metrics (DOE, DOC, sales productivity, etc.) Utilize and maintain lost sales tracking to identify opportunities Lead department meetings and participate in dealership management meetings Optimize department layout and workflow for efficiency Oversee shipping and receiving operations for accuracy and timeliness Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of all parts-related transactions Support collections efforts for past-due accounts Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSDS, and all federal, state, and local regulations Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and customer service excellence Perform additional duties as assigned Required Skills & Abilities Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Solid understanding of inventory control, pricing, and forecasting Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Mechanical or automotive product knowledge preferred Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required 1-3 years of automotive parts experience required Prior supervisory or management experience Equivalent combination of education and experience considered Physical Requirements Prolonged standing, walking, and bending Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Benefits Generous compensation based on performance/experience Benefits available - Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, Paid Time Off Positive and family-friendly atmosphere Paid training and advancement opportunities
