Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Materials Planning Manager to lead the organization's inventory strategy, production planning processes, and materials management operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective flow of materials throughout the business while aligning inventory, production schedules, and customer demand requirements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting operational performance, inventory optimization, and cross-functional business planning initiatives. Key Responsibilitie sPlanning, Inventory & Supply Chain Leadershi pDirect all activities related to materials planning, inventory management, scheduling, and production planning .Develop and maintain manufacturing plans that support customer demand forecasts and business objectives .Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and operational capacity .Evaluate inventory performance, identify shortages or excesses, and implement corrective actions to improve inventory efficiency .Investigate material availability and delivery challenges and coordinate solutions across departments .Provide inventory, shipping, and materials-related reporting to finance and senior leadership teams .Support the development, enhancement, and implementation of systems used for production control, customer order management, reporting, and manufacturing operations .Team Leadership & Workforce Developmen tLead, coach, and develop a team responsible for planning and materials management functions .Manage recruiting, onboarding, performance management, training, and employee development activities .Establish performance objectives and measurable success criteria for team members while monitoring progress toward goals .Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence .Resolve employee and workflow challenges while fostering a collaborative work environment .Drive workforce flexibility through cross-training initiatives and employee development programs .Develop staffing plans that support current and future operational requirements, including the effective use of overtime and temporary labor resources .Operational Excellenc eEnsure efficient utilization of materials and resources while identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve processes .Support departmental budget planning and cost-control initiatives where applicable .Enforce company policies, workplace standards, and safety requirements .Continuously seek improvements in planning processes, inventory control methods, and overall operational performance .Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned . Qualificatio nsEducati onBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline require d.

Experien ceMinimum of eight (8) years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, or related supply chain function s.

At least three (3) years of leadership experience managing planning, materials, or supply chain team s.

Demonstrated success utilizing and implementing MRP systems within a manufacturing environmen t.

Experience working with ERP platforms; SAP experience is strongly preferre d.

Quality & Continuous Improveme ntMaintain compliance with all company quality standards, policies, and procedure s.

Apply structured problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement principles to enhance operational effectiveness and process performanc e.
