$25•28 per hour + Performance Bonuses About Us Empire Logistics NY, LLC is a leading Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) specializing in last-mile delivery logistics, operating out of the East Syracuse, NY Delivery Station (6834 Kirkville Road) . We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and results-driven Hiring Manager who is capable and prepared on Day 1 to lead our talent acquisition and onboarding efforts.
Note:
Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) provide contracted delivery services and are independent employers. The Hiring Manager Role As the Hiring Manager, you will be the driving force behind building and maintaining a fully staffed, high-quality team of Delivery Associates (drivers) and Dispatchers. This is a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting role. You will own the entire hiring pipeline—from sourcing and interviewing candidates to navigating Amazon's onboarding portals and ensuring new hires are ready for their first day on the road. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and DSP owner to project staffing needs and maintain targeted headcount.
Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Recruiting:
Post and manage job listings across platforms (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, local boards). Actively source, screen, and interview candidates for driver and operational roles.
Pipeline Management:
Track candidates through the hiring funnel, ensuring a fast and seamless applicant experience to prevent candidate drop-off.
Onboarding & Compliance:
Guide candidates through Amazon's onboarding process, including background checks, motor vehicle record (MVR) checks, and drug screenings. Ensure all I-9 and employee files are compliant and up to date.
Training Coordination:
Schedule new hires for their required Amazon training classes and coordinate their first day of ride-along training with our veteran drivers.
Retention & Culture:
Conduct 30/60/90-day check-ins with new hires. Analyze turnover data, conduct exit interviews, and recommend strategies to improve employee retention and company culture. Build a fun, respectful, interactive culture where people love to work!
Community Outreach:
Attend local job fairs and build relationships with local community organizations to build a strong pipeline of local talent.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
1+ years of experience as an Amazon DSP hiring manager or 2+ years experience in high-volume recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources. Experience hiring for logistics, warehousing, or transportation is highly preferred.
Tech-Savvy:
Highly proficient with Amazon's applicant portals (like Fountain) or with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and spreadsheet software.
Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to "sell" the position and company culture to prospective candidates.
Organization:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage dozens of candidates simultaneously at different stages of the onboarding process.
Other Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
