Role:
The Parts Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the efficient operation of the parts department within an automotive service environment. This position is responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring the availability of automotive parts and tires to meet customer and service department needs promptly. The Parts Manager leads the parts counter team, coordinating daily activities to optimize customer service and operational workflows. They collaborate closely with the service department to support vehicle maintenance and repair operations by providing accurate and timely parts supply. Ultimately, the role ensures that the parts department contributes to overall dealership profitability and customer satisfaction through effective management and strategic planning.Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience in parts counter operations and inventory management within the automotive aftermarket industry. Strong knowledge of automotive parts, tires, and spare parts relevant to vehicle maintenance and repair. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team effectively in a fast-paced service environment. Familiarity with operations management principles and automotive service department workflows. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with dealership management systems or parts inventory software. Certification or training related to automotive parts management or inventory control. Background in automotive maintenance or repair to better understand parts application and service needs. Experience working in a multi-location dealership or large automotive service center. Knowledge of tire sales and inventory management.Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise all aspects of the parts department, including inventory control, ordering, receiving, and stocking of automotive parts and tires. Lead and train parts counter staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain efficient parts sales operations. Coordinate with the service department to ensure timely availability of parts required for vehicle maintenance and repairs. Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess stock and reduce shortages, optimizing turnover and cost control. Maintain accurate records of parts transactions, pricing, and warranty claims while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.Skills:
The required skills such as parts counter expertise and inventory management are essential for daily tasks like processing parts orders, managing stock levels, and ensuring accurate parts availability for service operations.
