What is a Materials Manager?

The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing materials planning, inventory management, procurement coordination, and material flow to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures that raw materials and supplies are available to meet production demands while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. The position plays a critical role in aligning supply with demand, improving inventory accuracy, and supporting overall operational performance.

What You Can Expect to Do as a

Materials Manager:

Oversee materials planning, inventory control, and material flow within the facilityEnsure availability of raw materials and supplies to meet production schedulesManage inventory levels to balance service, cost, and efficiencyCoordinate with Procurement, Production, and Supply Chain teamsMonitor and improve inventory accuracy and control processesDevelop and maintain material planning strategies and policiesAnalyze demand, usage, and trends to support planning decisionsManage warehouse coordination and material handling processesIdentify and implement improvements to reduce waste and optimize inventoryLead and develop materials and inventory team membersWhat We Are Looking For in a

Materials Manager:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred58+ years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or supply chain rolesExperience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferredStrong understanding of inventory management, planning, and material flowExperience with ERP systems and inventory tracking toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and drive process improvementsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsWhy Join IP Corporation?
