Job Description

Position Summary The Director of Distribution & Logistic s is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's end-to-end global logistics, fulfillment, and distribution network through third-party logistics providers (3PLs), transportation partners, distributors and integrated supply chain systems. This role ensures efficient, scalable, and cost-effective operations while maintaining high service levels across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, marketplace, distributor and direct-to-consumer channels. The Director will drive logistics strategy, oversee 3PL performance, manage international transportation and import operations, and lead the development of integrated systems, data visibility and operational processes that support continued company growth. The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership with expertise in omnichannel fulfillment, retailer compliance, Amazon and marketplace operations, global logistics, supply chain systems integration and data-driven process improvement. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Network Design Design and optimize a global 3PL network that supports omni channel retailers and e-businesses like Amazon Evaluate, select and onboard new 3PL partners and build scalable logistics processes supporting business expansion and operational complexity Evaluate emerging logistics technologies and digital tools to improve efficiency, visibility and scalability Lead process redesign and continuous improvement initiatives to improve automation, throughput, service performance and cost efficiency 3PL Management & Transportation Operations Own all 3PL relationships including contract negotiation, SLAs, KPIs, pricing and ongoing performance management Establish structured operating cadences including weekly operational reviews, scorecards and quarterly business reviews Ensure 3PL partners consistently achieve service, cost, quality, inventory accuracy and OTIF performance expectations Lead RFPs and benchmarking exercises to ensure competitive pricing and operational capabilities Oversee inbound and outbound transportation operations managed through 3PLs and freight partners Manage international logistics from Asia-based manufacturing partners including ocean freight, container planning, customs clearance, drayage, transloading and domestic distribution Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, international logistics providers, monitoring & optimizing freight spend Monitor and mitigate risks related to tariffs, geopolitical disruption, port congestion, capacity constraints, peak demand periods and transportation delays Manage retailer routing guide compliance, chargeback mitigation, freight claims and transportation exceptions Customer Supply Chain & Omnichannel Fulfillment Serve as primary contact for retailer logistics, distributor operations and customer supply teams Support customer onboarding, vendor setup, routing compliance and operational scorecard improvement initiatives Ensure efficient execution of retail replenishment, wholesale orders, direct-to-consumer fulfillment and drop-ship operations Lead logistics operations supporting Amazon global channels including Vendor Central (1P), FBA, direct import programs and replenishment through regional 3PL networks Manage inventory flow and replenishment strategies across Amazon fulfillment channels including direct import containers, FBA replenishment and LTL replenishment from domestic distribution centers Support logistics requirements for Walmart and other major omnichannel retailers Coordinate logistics operations supporting distributors and customers across international markets including Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East Reduce retailer deductions, shortages, and operational chargebacks through process improvements, compliance management and improved data accuracy Inventory, Visibility & Performance Analytics Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Sales and Finance to ensure optimal inventory positioning across global distribution network Improve visibility into inventory, order status, transportation activity and operational exceptions across all nodes Develop and manage logistics budget including warehousing, transportation, duties and related operational spend Track and report KPIs including fulfillment cost, cost per unit shipped, OTIF, fill rate, inventory turns and order accuracy Develop operational dashboards and real-time visibility tools across inventory, fulfillment, transportation and customer service metrics Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions using operational and transactional data Establish KPI governance and standardized reporting across internal teams and external partners Supply Chain Systems & Data Integration Lead design and management of data integrations between internal systems, customers, distributors, 3PLs, carriers and marketplaces Oversee integration and optimization of ERP, WMS, TMS, OMS, EDI, API and related supply chain systems Own EDI, API, flat-file, and portal-based connectivity supporting orders, inventory, ASN, shipment tracking, invoicing, retailer compliance and drop-ship operations Partner with IT and external providers to architect scalable integration solutions and operational data flows Ensure timely, accurate, and automated exchange of operational data across all supply chain partners Drive improvements in system interoperability, automation, visibility, exception management and process standardization Lead onboarding of new retail, marketplace and e-commerce trading partners from a systems and logistics integration perspective Establish governance and standards for supply chain master data, transaction integrity and operational reporting Compliance & Risk Management Ensure 3PL partners comply with regulatory, safety, customer-specific, retailer, and international import/export requirements Manage reverse logistics, and exception management processes in coordination with internal teams and external partners Maintain operational readiness for audits, retailer compliance reviews, customs requirements and customer performance standards Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with Sales, Customer Supply Chain, Finance, Planning, IT, Product Development and Sourcing teams to align operational capabilities with business objectives Support new product launches, promotional programs and market expansion initiatives with scalable logistics solutions Lead and develop a high-performing logistics organization focused on accountability, operational excellence and continuous improvement Foster a data-driven culture emphasizing visibility, ownership, responsiveness and execution Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred 10+ years of progressive logistics, distribution, or supply chain leadership experience, including significant experience managing 3PL networks in a consumer products or omnichannel environment Proven success in 3PL selection, contract negotiation, operational governance and performance management Strong understanding of retailer compliance requirements, routing guides, chargebacks and customer supply chain operations Experience supporting Amazon Vendor Central (1P), FBA, direct import and omnichannel marketplace fulfillment operations Experience managing international logistics and import operations from Asia, including ocean freight, customs clearance and duty management Experience implementing and managing EDI transactions including 850, 855, 856, 810 and 846 transaction sets Experience working with API-based integrations, middleware and supply chain systems connectivity Strong understanding of data flows across ERP, WMS, TMS, OMS, retailer portals and e-commerce platforms Experience managing systems integration projects involving customers, distributors, 3PLs, carriers and external vendors Strong financial, analytical and operational problem-solving skills Familiarity with modern supply chain visibility, reporting and analytics tools Key Competencies Strategic thinking
